Pain with navel piercing, swollen and sensitive to touch…?

Whenever I do touch it, it send a shooting pain through my stomach. There is crusting around the jewelry.
I’m afraid to take it out, because I’ve read that the infection can seal up inside your body.

I’ve had this piercing for about 4 months.. does anyone know what’s wrong with it?

It is infected already. Clean the area with peroxide or alcohol. Make sure you buy the right type of peroxide, not the hair lightening type, that is too strong.

WHile you are in the drug store/pharmacy already to buy the peroxide, buy a tube of over the counter antibiotic such as polysporin or polymyxin as well. After you clean the area, and the navel ring , put the ointment on the area including the ring. pull the ring through the skin as well.
If it does not improve in one day, go to the doctor.

Where can i find body piercing clamps?

im giving myself snakebites and i need to know where i can get my hands on a pair of piercing clamps. i have sterilized jewelry and equiptment and am skilled in piercings. thanks! :D

well there is walmart..or a tattoo shop..lol…walmart is just a cheap way..but you can go to the tattoo shops just about anywhere and get good sterilized clamps.

Navel Piercing Rejection

My four month old piercing started rejecting, I can see the bar through the skin. I went to a piercing studio, and two of it’s piercers advised me to let the ring grow out naturally, instead of removing it. I’ve read up on piercing rejection on several body modification websites, and mostly removal of the ring is recommended. Can I get any advice on this?

if you leave the jewelry in and let it continue to reject, its going to be painful and will leave a nasty scar.

I can’t believe that the piercers even told you to leave it in.

Take it out and let the area heal. you’re probably still going to have some scarring but not as bad as if you let your body force it out completely
